Curling wand is a cylindrical metal appliance, used to change the structure of the hair by applying heat to a lock of hair that has been curled around it. Curling wand is like a curling iron but without the clamp. This allows you to follow the natural shape of your curl. Gently wrap your curl around the wand and hold for fifteen seconds. Finish with an anti frizzing spray that also offers hold.
History says that the ancient people who lived in Babylonia and Assyria had often used a curling iron appliance to crimp and curl them with curling irons. Persian nobles also curled their hair and beards, quite often staining them. It is said that upper class in the ancient Greece also used curling irons.
The curling iron has remained a favourite tool in spite of all the chemical inventions. We have moved on from the metal rods heated by insertion into hot coals or heating on gas or electric stoves. In1866, Hiram Maxim, who designed the machine gun bearing his name, applied for and obtained the first of many patents at age 26 for a hair-curling iron. Four years later two French man used hot-air drying and heated curling tongs to make deep, long-lasting Marcel waves. The pressing/curling iron was patented by Theora Stephens in 1980. Wahl Clipper Corporation introduced Zee Curl to the professional market in 1987. This flat-barrel curling iron gave stylists a tool to create new hairstyles with Z-shaped curls, adding texture and body to all types of hair. In 1988, FrenZee, the consumer version, was added
Some curling irons work in similar way as that of the styling brush and a hair dryer which uses a hot air to style your hair. Some are made with narrow wands for tighter curls while the wider wand provides long allowing waves in the air. They can be used to create spiral curls, spring curls and sometimes used to straighten the hair.
There are hot, ceramic, steam and metal air curling brushes are available. You have to be careful in choosing among them. There are traditional curling brushes too which you can plug in to the wall. Butane and propane fueled curling irons that you'll be able to use anywhere. The biggest advantage of the butane and propane curling wand is that it can be used while you are on move. It is easy to slip one into your carry-on bag or suitcase while on travel. What you need to do is Take your curling iron with you and squeeze in a few minutes in the restroom before you make it to office or going out after office! You won't have to worry about finding the right adapter because you don't have to plug in your curling wand!
